Morph

‘’Morph’’ side table is a result of a collaboration with Katie Stout, Brooklyn-based designer/artist.

In this design, we wanted to push our boundaries and at the same time to go back to our basic sketches, where usually our first visual starts to appear.

Purifying our sketches and elaborating them to create geometrical shape is our method; in ‘’Morph’’ we wanted to translate our rough sketch to reality without the simplification process. For us, it’s a design expression evolution involving a free, spontaneous and naïve design. Made out of a mix of ceramic, clay and cast brass, where all components are made and shaped by hand, without any machine involvement.

In a process of a back and forth sketching game and brainstorming over video calls and messaging, along with an exchange of new materials knowledge and Ideas, where each designer was adding his/her own touch and thoughts to the initial sketch, the piece turned out to be a well welded and brewed design that represents the power of this collaboration.

The piece has been made partially at Katie’s Studio in NewYork and the other part in our Studio in Beirut.
